It should be socially acceptable to hate dogs.

The moment anybody seems to mention that they hate dogs, they get a swarm of angry people calling them a heartless monster. f someone were to say that they dislike cats or something, most likely people would accept that. That’s not the same for dogs, however.

There’s quite a few reasons why I personally hate dogs. Firstly, I don’t like how energetic they tend to be. A dog running up to me, jumping around and placing its paws on me freaks me out and overwhelms me. Secondly, I don’t like how loud they can be. Everywhere you go, you seem to always hear nonstop barking. Thirdly, I hate how gross they are. Call me a germaphobe, but I hate the idea of dogs licking me. That grosses me out quite a lot, and not to mention that many dogs smell very bad. And lastly, dogs can be very scary. Of course not all of them, but there are countless stories of people getting seriously injured by their own dog, or an unleashed dog out in public.

People’s obsession with dogs also very weird. Some people make owning a dog their entire personality, and even put them above humans. They sometimes call their own dog their child, and seem to sometimes forget that it is an animal.

I’m tired of people seeing me as a heartless monster when I say that I both fear, and really hate dogs. I should clarify, I’m not trying to demonize people who like these animals. I have no problem if you like dogs or not. And yeah, I can understand situations like a guide dog being very helpful for someone. I really don’t mean any disrespect here.
