I (28M) just married my wife (26F) last weekend. Throughout the planning and the wedding day, I stayed relaxed because I know things don’t always go perfectly and that’s okay.

But there was one thing I asked my wife not to do: shove cake in my face during the cake cutting. I told her directly that I hated the idea, didn’t find it funny, and didn’t want frosting in my beard or on my suit. She laughed and promised not to.

Well, guess what happened? She smashed the cake right into my face. Everyone laughed, and she seemed proud of it. I forced a smile, cleaned up, and tried not to let it ruin the night. But after the reception, I told her I was really upset. This was the one thing I asked her not to do. She brushed it off, saying I was overreacting and needed to lighten up.

So now I’m wondering was I being too sensitive about it? AITAH?
