This is in the US.

The way it seems is that I’ll work until I’m 70 or whatever and then once I’ve lost the ability to work… then what? If I don’t have any retirement or savings, I’m only getting SS which isn’t even enough to cover rent on a small efficiency apartment. Plus I don’t think SS will he around when I’m older in all reality.

So, in that case, do I just starve and die? I don’t plan on having kids so it’ll just be me.

Edit: I’m not asking the best way to save, how to retire, etc. I’m asking if I become to old to work and have no savings, will I be left to die?

Edit 2: Guys, I’m really not a very smart person. I’m not trying to make anyone take care of me, or make myself the victim, or whatever. I’m just asking a question.
